Mammogram Department Assistant
The mammogram department assistant is responsible for managing patient follow-up communications and documentation in accordance with FDA regulations. This role ensures timely notification of mammogram results to patients and referring physicians, tracks outstanding follow-up needs, and assists with maintaining regulatory compliance and accreditation standards.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of mammogram result letters to patients, as required by the Mammography Quality Standards Act.
Coordinate follow-up appointments for additional imaging or diagnostic procedures as indicated in radiologist reports.
Track and monitor patients who require additional testing or biopsies to ensure follow-through and resolution.
Communicate with referring providers to relay recommendations and gather updated clinical information as needed.
Maintain accurate and compliant patient follow-up logs and documentation for audit readiness.
Assist with preparing documentation for FDA or ACR inspections and audits.
Support front and back-office tasks as needed, including scheduling and EMR data entry.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.63 - $18.24 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
