About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Technical to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a large site and working closely with retail and food service customers. This role demands a professional with a strong background in technical and quality management, particularly within the food manufacturing industry. Key responsibilities include implementing and maintaining quality control processes, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards, leading a team of technical professionals, and overseeing product development and supplier relationships. The Head of Technical will also be involved in crisis management, continuous improvement, and will be the point of contact for internal and external audits and inspections. Applicants for the Head of Technical position at the company should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in food science, food technology, or a related field. Extensive experience in a technical role within the food manufacturing industry is essential, with a proven track record in quality management. The role requires a deep understanding of food safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are a must, and certification in food safety (e.g., HACCP, BRC) is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will be adept at crisis management, and continuous improvement, and be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a team and drive technical and quality initiatives.
