Grinder

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Metal Finisher/Grinder to join our client's manufacturing team. In this role, the successful candidate will primarily utilize a variety of hand and power tools to grind, sand, clena, or polish metal objects and parts. This crucial preparation process corrects surface defects and ensures all items are completely ready for further finishing. A fundamental aspect of this position involves reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and other shop drawing aids to accurately determine specific finish requirements.

salary: $18 - $19 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Sand and prepare modular box for painting process
• Apply body filler (bondo) to areas that require smoothing
• Use hand held angle grinder to smooth welds

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week

Skills

• Aluminum (2 years of experience is required)
• Grinding (1 year of experience is required)
• Fabrication
