Burn Table Operator / Plate, Pipe & Angle Roll Operator

Pay rate: $24-$26 per hour plus $3 per hour performance bonus

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Burn Table Operator / Plate Roll Operator who can walk in and immediately operate a Burn table, plate rolls, pipe rolls, and angle rolls. This is a hands-on production role supporting heavy fabrication projects
We are not looking to train entry-level candidates — this position requires proven experience.
This person must be willing to do other task as well.
The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, mechanically skilled, and capable of independently burning plate, rolling plate, pipe, and angle to the prints.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Burn Table Operation (Required)

• Independently operate CNC burn tables from startup to production
• Power up the table, load existing programs, verify nests, and begin cutting without assistance
• Set torch heights, check consumables, and confirm cut parameters
• Load material using forklift and overhead crane
• Verify parts against drawings and nesting layouts
• Mark, etch, and organize burned parts for fabrication
• Perform basic troubleshooting and recognize cut-quality issues
• Maintain clean cutting areas and assist with routine table maintenance

Rolling Equipment Operation

• Operate 4-roll plate rolling machines
  • Roll thin plate through heavy plate up to 1-1/2” thick x 10’ wide
  • Experience rolling:
    • Shell plate for storage tanks
    • Vessel cans
    • Manway necks
    • Similar heavy fabrication components
• Operate 3-roll pipe rollers
  • Roll pipe from approximately 1” diameter up to 4’ diameter
• Operate 3-roll angle rollers
  • Roll angle leg in or leg out
  • Roll angles from 1” x 1” up to 5” x 5”

Additional Equipment

• Safely operate forklifts
• Safely operate overhead cranes
• Press brake experience is a plus

Fabrication Support (Preferred)

• Basic fitting and tack welding ability is preferred (not required)

Experience Requirements

• 5–10 years of relevant plate cutting and rolling experience preferred
• Must be capable of working independently with little supervision
• Must have prior experience cutting and rolling:
  • Carbon steel and/or stainless steel

Candidates will be asked about:

• Types of Burn tables they have operated.
• Types of plate rolls, pipe rolls, and angle rolls they have operated
• Types of press brakes they have operated
• Previous employers and roles held (lead operator, helper, etc.)
• Types of material cut and rolled
• Scope and complexity of projects completed

• Candidates will be asked to operate the equipment prior to getting offered a position.
