We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Utility Equipment Operator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment operation Operate a variety of equipment, including excavators, backhoes, dump trucks, vacuum trucks, skid steers, and pulling trailers.
• Maintenance Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment, such as greasing, belt adjustment, and system flushing.
• Installation and repair Install and repair equipment, including gas lines, valves, water mains, taps, and sewer mainlines.
• Inspections Perform daily inspections on equipment, and inspect affected systems and areas.
• Monitoring Monitor equipment and systems, and take readings at designated intervals.
• Reporting Report defects or failures in gas, electricity, or water, and prepare reports on equipment performance.
• Safety Set up traffic safety controls, and ensure the safety of coworkers and the public.
  
• Coordination Coordinate activities with other public works staff.
  

Requirements:

- Must live in the area and/or be able to get yourself to and from work daily

- Must be willing to train in our online, Operator Qualification (OQ) Program, on your own time and by the deadline set, to meet federal regulations to provide underground utilities

- Preferred 10 years experience in natural gas utilities and operating excavators

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL is preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Relevant certifications and licenses are a plus

- There are times when we have to work Saturdays and overtime. This is a requirement of the job

- Must be able to do heavy lifting

- Must pass a drug test and a background check

- Must make a commitment to be at work every day, be dependable, and reliable
