Biller / Adjustment Specialist – Hybrid (Monroeville, PA)

Location:
Monroeville, PA (Candidates must live within 1 hour of the Monroeville site)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Biller/Adjustment Specialist to join our billing and reimbursement team. In this role, you will ensure timely and accurate billing for outstanding claims while demonstrating excellent customer service to patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance carriers. You will review requests for claim reconciliation and process appropriate adjustments in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

This position is hybrid — you will be required to work onsite in the Monroeville office every other week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) for a total of four times per month , with flexibility to come onsite as business needs change. Free parking is available at the facility.

Schedule

  • Full-Time: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST
  • Hybrid Role: Combination of remote and in-office work
  • Must be willing to adjust schedule for business needs if required

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform third-party insurance claim billing associated with medication dispensing using payer-specific billing methods.
  • Transmit or submit paper and electronic claims to insurance payors for reimbursement.
  • Research and resolve insurance problems and patient issues related to incomplete information, therapy changes, or billing errors.
  • Maintain detailed, chronological notes documenting all actions taken to resolve billing edits.
  • Update and maintain patient demographic and insurance data in accordance with payer and company policy guidelines.
  • Research and respond to insurance companies and government payors regarding billing issues via phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Contact patients, physician offices, or insurance carriers as needed to expedite claim processing.
  • Process adjustments based on information provided through work queues or requests from other internal departments.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare insurance billing, reimbursement, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications — specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Must live within a 1-hour commute of Monroeville, PA.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective customer service and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
