L&N Credit Union in Birmingham, Alabama has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Teller/Member Services Representative.
The Teller/Member Service Representative is responsible for delivering exceptional member service while performing a wide range of teller and member service functions. This position processes member transactions accurately and efficiently, including receiving and disbursing funds; in person, by telephone, and through mail correspondence. The representative is knowledgeable in all member service functions: including opening, maintaining, and closing member accounts. This role actively identifies opportunities to educate members about and promote credit union products and services to meet their financial needs. Additionally, the Teller/Member Service Representative cross-trains in multiple areas to support overall credit union operations and ensure efficient, high-quality service to the membership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides front line member service and is the first impression in the branch
- Processes deposits, withdrawals, and payments for member accounts
- Prepares and completes documentation for products and services
- Open and close member accounts
- Assists members with basic debit/credit card needs
- Balances cash drawer daily
- Provides general Credit Union information to members
Essential Qualifications and Competencies:
- High school diploma required
- Cash handling/Teller experience required
- Customer service experience preferred
- Professional, well-developed, interpersonal skills are necessary for servicing and for projecting a positive image to members of the Credit Union
- Accurately convey detailed and important instructions to the membership and fellow employees.
