Position Summary

The Payroll Coordinator / Financial Specialist Assistant is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll while supporting human resources and business office operations. This role is critical to ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time while maintaining compliance and confidentiality.

What You’ll Do

Payroll (Primary Focus)

  1. Process payroll accurately and on time
  2. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
  3. Enter, audit, and manage employee time and pay data
  4. Review and resolve payroll discrepancies and edits
  5. Respond to payroll questions and requests
  6. Ensure confidentiality of all payroll and financial information

Human Resources & On-boarding

  1. Assist with on-boarding new hires (background checks, drug screens, I-9, E-Verify)
  2. Maintain and audit personnel files for accuracy and compliance
  3. Coordinate benefits communication and employee documentation
  4. Support applicant screening and hiring processes
  5. Conduct and track exit interviews

Administrative & Office Support

  1. Answer phones and greet visitors professionally
  2. Handle correspondence, filing, and clerical duties
  3. Generate reports related to payroll and attendance
  4. Maintain organized records and office systems
  5. Support overall business office operations

Qualifications

  1. 3–5 years of payroll experience required (healthcare preferred)
  2. Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  3. Knowledge of payroll systems ( Kronos experience a plus )
  4. Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations
  5. Strong numerical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  7. Professional communication and customer service skills
