Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Albertville City Schools (Alabama)

Spur, a digital staffing agency, is seeking a dedicated and reliable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Paraprofessional to support students and staff at Albertville City Schools.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate is a compassionate and adaptable healthcare professional who can work efficiently in a fast-paced school environment . This role involves assisting teachers and staff in daily activities with special needs students while maintaining professionalism. Candidates must adhere to school guidelines, represent the program positively, and wear business casual attire . Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide healthcare services to students with disabilities as needed.
• Follow medical plans and administer necessary treatments.
• Utilize CPI-certified physical management techniques (training and annual updates required).
• Assist students with mobility and personal care , including bathroom assistance.
• Lift, push, and pull up to 65 lbs as needed.
• Escort students to various school activities.
• Support basic grade-level classwork for students.
• Work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and the community .
• Adapt to changing student behaviors and needs .
• Knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) is preferred.

Requirements

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) .
• Obtain a State of Alabama Background Check ($48.00).
• Required online training .
• Minimum one year of experience working with children with special needs.

Compensation & Schedule

• $22.69 per hour .
• Work hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (varies by location).
