We are currently accepting applications for a Director of Nursing within our long-term care and rehab facility specializing in geriatrics. Qualifications:

1. Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing and currently licensed by the State of Alabama
2. Must be at least 18 years of age
3. Previous experience in a supervisory capacity
4. Long-Term Care / Nursing Home Experience highly preferred
5. Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care
6. Positive attitude toward the elderly

Job Functions:

1. Lead the Nursing Team
2. Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Nursing Services Department
3. Manage all Aspects of the Nursing Department
4. Works With the Administrator and Department Heads
5. Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, evaluating, disciplining and terminating nursing services personnel
6. Develop and participate in planning, implementing, conducting and scheduling orientation, training and in-service educational activities for nursing services personnel
7. Assist in developing for each resident in compliance with federal/state guidelines a preliminary and comprehensive assessment and written care plan
8. Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining safety standards, written aseptic and isolation techniques, programs for monitoring communicable and/or infectious diseases among residents and personnel, and procedures for reporting hazardous conditions or equipment
9. Understand Residents' Rights
10. Ability to communicate with residents and personnel and ability to remain calm under stress.
11. Understand Care Plan and Assessment
12. Planning and Implementing Developmental Plans
