What we're looking for:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with children with disabilities in a school setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual student needs
- Organizational skills and a proactive approach to managing responsibilities
Your role and responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver effective lesson plans that align with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and support staff
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents and guardians
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that nurtures growth and independence
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the planning process
