Do you enjoy switching between a Swiss lathe and a 5-axis mill? Can you read a complex GD&T callout and know exactly how to hold it? If you thrive on precision and uptime, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

• Own setups and daily operation of multiple CNC and manual machines—lathes, mills, grinders—delivering medical-grade parts to spec.
• Optimize controls: set feeds, speeds, and overrides for consistency and repeatability.
• Use machine command codes to retrieve data, restart programs, and clear/resolve alarms safely.
• Read STERIS drawings and travelers; apply GD&T to plan workholding, tooling, and inspection.
• Measure twice, cut once: verify dimensions with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision metrology tools.
• Champion safety—PPE on, rules followed, hazards reported immediately.
• Keep your area audit-ready using 5S; prevent defects by managing tool life and spotting premature wear.
• Hit commitments without sacrificing quality; follow policies and code of conduct communicated via handbook, bulletins, newsletters, and other STERIS channels.
• Share what you know: help train operators and support cross-training.

Background That Fits

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree a plus.
• 2+ years of hands-on machining experience.
• Confident with CNC and conventional lathes and mills from setup through production.
• Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and production specs.
• Comfortable with metrology tools and in-process inspection.
• Strong math skills and a quality-first mindset; decisive and detail-oriented.
• Clear communicator and collaborative team member; follows written and verbal instructions.
• Adaptable to shifting priorities and business needs.
• Open to overtime when required.
• Nice to have: knowledge of Lean (5S, Kanban, Visual Management, waste elimination, root cause problem solving).

Schedule & Flexibility

Two fixed options: 7:00am–3:00pm Monday–Friday, or 11:00pm–7:00am Sunday–Thursday. Overtime as needed.
