EMCO Technologies, in partnership with Leidos on the NASA AEGIS contract, is seeking a Network Engineer III to lead advanced network engineering initiatives supporting NASA’s enterprise communications modernization. This senior-level role will oversee the transition of NASA’s telephony infrastructure from Cisco (desk phones and Jabber) to the Microsoft Teams Phone platform. The position requires expertise in complex network design and implementation, leadership of technical teams, and ensuring compliance with Enhanced 911 (E911) requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of complex network engineering tasks independently, including design, implementation, and integration of enterprise networks (hardware, software, facilities, and personnel).

Lead major technical and engineering efforts of higher complexity and visibility.

Direct the migration of NASA’s telephony systems from Cisco to Microsoft Teams Phone, ensuring seamless adoption across NASA centers.

Ensure E911 compliance, including integration with providers and validation of user location accuracy.

Plan, research, and develop advanced network solutions in alignment with engineering and customer specifications.

Manage and supervise a team of Network Engineers, Analysts, and Technicians.

Oversee project delivery, ensuring completion within budgetary and scheduling requirements.

Provide expert guidance, mentoring, and technical leadership for network engineering practices.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience; OR

Associate’s degree and 15+ years of relevant experience.

US citizenship is required in order to obtain Public Trust Clearance

Required Skills:

Demonstrated expertise in enterprise network design, development, and implementation.

Strong knowledge of telephony and collaboration platforms, including Cisco Unified Communications and Microsoft Teams Phone.

Experience managing large-scale IT transition projects.

Deep understanding of E911 compliance and enterprise telephony integrations.

Proven ability to lead and supervise technical teams.

Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

Prior experience in federal government or NASA IT environments.

Hands-on expertise with VoIP, SIP trunking, call routing, and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
