The Mechanical Superintendent oversees and coordinates all mechanical construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of mechanical systems, construction practices, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage mechanical crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and safety standards.
Plan and schedule mechanical work activities in coordination with other trades.
Monitor progress and productivity, resolving issues to avoid delays.
Conduct inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to codes.
Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, work logs, and change orders.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
Enforce safety protocols and participate in safety meetings and audits.
Assist in procurement and inventory management of mechanical materials and equipment.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in mechanical construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
OSHA certification and other relevant safety training preferred.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed on active construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions.
May require extended hours, weekends, and travel depending on project needs.
