MANAGER ACCOUNTING

: Description

To plan, organize, staff, manage and control one or more accounting function and process for UAB. To assist in developing, recommending and overseeing the systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective management of accounting functions within the University. To prepare a variety of special and recurring analyses and reports, and to distribute results to Financial Management members and other university stakeholders. To cooperate with auditors conducting audits, to comply with funding agencies requests, and to adhere to reporting deadlines set by internal and external entities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Plans, organizes, staffs, manages and controls one or more accounting function and process for UAB. Develops and implements strategies to maintain departmental performance. Represents the Director and/or Assistant Controller as required. 2. Assists in developing, recommending and overseeing the systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective management of accounting functions within the University. Ensures all practices are in accordance with the various funding agencies, federal, state and university objectives. 3. Prepares a variety of special and recurring analyses and reports depicting departmental/University financial operations. Distributes results to Financial Management members and other appropriate University stakeholders. 4. Cooperates with independent, third party and regulatory auditors conducting audits. Complies with funding agencies requests, and adheres to reporting deadlines set by internal and external entities. 5. Performs other duties as assigned

Annual Salary Range: $77,640 - $79,969.20

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field and seven (7) years of related experience required. Work may NOT substitute for education requirement.
