We are seeking a back-end-focused Software Developer with full stack experience and a strong interest in IoT cybersecurity to join our engineering team. Ideal candidates have developed software in complex, regulated domains such as defense, robotics, medical devices, automotive, or aerospace and are passionate about engineering secure, scalable solutions for embedded or distributed systems.

This is a hands-on development role with the opportunity to work on cutting-edge cybersecurity R&D projects with immediate national defense impact.

What You'll Do

As a member of the Secmation Software Product Development Team , you will:

Contribute to the creation of innovative software products that push the boundaries of Defense and industrial cybersecurity technologies. In this hands-on engineering role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing front-end applications using modern frameworks and UI principles, creating RESTful APIs for secure communication and integration, and building robust back-end systems and databases that emphasize performance, scalability, and data integrity.

You will work in close collaboration with embedded systems and cybersecurity software engineers to integrate front-end and back-end services with secure firmware and system-level components. Your work will directly support high-impact projects with dual-use potential, delivering solutions for both commercial and defense applications that protect critical infrastructure and autonomous systems.

Required Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required for this position due to government clearance requirements. Must be eligible for a DoD Security Clearance.
• Associate's degree or higher in Computer Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Over 5 years of experience in full-stack development, with expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies
• Proficient in programming languages and web application frameworks including Python, JavaScript, and/or Java (e.g., React, Django, Flask, Spring, Express)
• Hands-on experience with the following technologies and tools:
  • MySQL database management
  • Django web framework
  • Celery for asynchronous task processing
  • Docker containerization
  • Python programming language
• Demonstrated experience working in Agile software development environments, utilizing DevOps tools such as Jira and Git
• No relocation assistance offered for this position.

Work Environment

• Hybrid role with on-site work required in Raleigh, NC , Baltimore, MD area , or Huntsville, AL .
• Core work hours are Monday to Friday, with flexible work schedules.
