Full time position in a modern, one doctor veterinary hospital. At Highlands we are focused on patient care and client education, not just moving products or meeting production goals. More than just a job, a fulfilling career!

Hours would be Monday, Thursday, Friday 8:30AM to 5:30PM. Wednesday from 9:00AM to 7:00PM. Tuesday's off. Rotating weekends every 8 weeks.

Pay based on experience, but general range of $13.50-15.50 to start.

Position requires:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to pass a drug screening
• Previous Veterinary Assisting or Veterinary Technician experience
• Personable, pleasant disposition, good attitude
• Organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to hold patients for treatments (squatting and/or kneeling for extended periods)
• Capacity to work well during stressful situations

Daily responsibilities would include:

• Greeting clients in exam rooms and taking medical history
• Going over medication and treatment instructions with clients
• Ensuring accurate medical notations in patient charts
• Invoicing services & discussing estimates for services
• Feeding, walking, medicating, and bathing patients
• Laundering kennel bedding, towels and blankets
• Cleaning and wrapping surgical packs
• Cleaning kennels, exam rooms, treatment areas and maintaining a sanitary hospital
• Restocking hospital supplies
• Administering medications to patients as directed by the DVM
• Assisting DVM taking radiographs
• Assisting DVM running bloodwork
• Assisting DVM for treatments
• Placing IV catheters
