Fiber Splicing Technician (CFOT/CFOS)

We are seeking experienced Fiber Optic Technicians / Fiber Splicers to support a large industrial facility build in Mobile, AL. Technicians will install fiber infrastructure across the campus including fiber cabinet installation, termination at LIU panels, pigtail splicing, and fiber testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion splicing of fiber optic cables including pigtail splicing
• Terminate fiber at LIU panels and fiber distribution cabinets
• Conduct OTDR and power meter testing on installed fiber
• Install fiber trays, racks, and termination panels
• Assemble and install fiber termination cabinets and equipment racks
• Document test results and daily progress reports

Technical Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of fiber optic experience including fusion splicing
• Experience with pigtail splicing and fiber termination
• Experience performing OTDR testing and reporting
• Experience with 144 strand fiber cable or higher

Preferred Certifications

• CFOT – Certified Fiber Optic Technician
• CFOS/S – Certified Fiber Optic Specialist (Splicing)
• BICSI Technician Certification
• OSHA 10 Certification

Additional Requirements

• Ability to read construction drawings and network schematics
• Strong attention to detail and documentation
• Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team
• Follow all site safety procedures and PPE requirements
