• Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico (87109)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens travel RN contract
• Unit: Med/Surg (Medical Surgical)
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (07:00 - 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 hours available
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Setting: Community hospital, adult and geriatric patients
• Orientation: 12 hours onsite
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1580-$1620

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New Mexico or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR charting system
• Ability to float to similar units within scope as needed
• Willingness to work every other weekend
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from facility

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy Medical/Surgical unit
• Manage a patient load of up to 6 patients per shift
• Administer medications, perform patient assessments, and monitor progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to similar units within scope as needed
• Document patient care using Epic EMR
• Participate in rapid response teams and adhere to isolation precautions
• Provide wound care, manage central and peripheral lines, and support pre/post hemodialysis management
