Inspire young learners by making a meaningful contribution as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary or middle school setting near Tuscaloosa, AL. This contract role offers the chance to guide students in both self-contained and collaborative environments, working closely with a dedicated and supportive staff committed to student success.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Alabama K-12 Special Education Licensure required
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff
- Compassionate educator focused on student growth and inclusion
- Adaptability to support diverse learning needs in a variety of classroom settings
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction tailored to individual student needs in self-contained or collaborative classrooms
- Design and update IEPs in partnership with parents and colleagues
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to optimize learning outcomes
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support personnel to maximize student potential
- Communicate regularly with families on student development and support strategies
