About the Role:
The Quality & Safety Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that all products manufactured meet stringent quality standards and comply with safety regulations within the non-durable goods manufacturing sector. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive quality assurance and safety programs that minimize risks and enhance product reliability. The manager will lead cross-functional teams to identify potential hazards, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that align with both company policies and regulatory requirements. By fostering a culture of quality and safety, this role directly contributes to protecting employees, customers, and the company’s reputation. Ultimately, the Quality & Safety Manager ensures operational excellence by balancing productivity with uncompromising standards for quality and workplace safety.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance and safety management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 and safety regulations including OSHA or equivalent.
- Proven experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage cross-functional teams and training initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
- Experience specifically within the non-durable goods manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Advanced data analysis skills using quality management software and statistical tools.
- Demonstrated success in driving cultural change towards quality and safety excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee quality management systems and safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement in product quality and workplace safety.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Lead training programs to educate employees on quality standards, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Analyze quality and safety data to generate reports, track performance metrics, and recommend strategic improvements.
- Manage incident investigations and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence of safety or quality failures.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to continuously enhance quality and safety frameworks.

The Quality & Safety Manager utilizes their expertise in quality management systems and safety regulations daily to ensure all manufacturing processes meet or exceed compliance standards. Analytical skills are essential for interpreting audit results, safety data, and quality metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Strong leadership and communication skills enable the manager to effectively train employees, lead investigations, and collaborate with multiple departments to resolve issues. Problem-solving abilities are critical when developing corrective actions and preventive measures to mitigate risks. Additionally, proficiency with quality management software and data analysis tools supports informed decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
