Healthcare Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87109 – New Mexico healthcare jobs
• Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit (15 beds)
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 15, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: 12-hour nights (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Weekend Requirement: 4-6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
• Scrubs: Provided
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2090-$2140

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Active NM or Compact Registered Nurse license (required at time of submission)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems
• Ability to float to similar clinical units as needed
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Patient ratio: 1:2

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and vaginal births
• Circulate for C-sections and recover post-operative patients
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients
• Utilize external fetal monitoring and manage antepartum patients
• Administer medications including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and adhere to isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently
• Float to similar nursing units within scope as needed
