We are seeking CNC Machinists to set up, operate, and monitor CNC equipment to machine ductile iron components with precision and consistency, while maintaining a strong focus on safety for yourself and others. Newly hired employees start at $24.24 per hour, plus applicable shift differential. We offer low-cost medical insurance, dental coverage, life and AD&D insurance, short-term disability, a company-matched 401(k) plan, and ten (10) paid holidays. Employees are eligible for five (5) vacation days after six (6) months of continuous employment.
All candidates offered employment must submit to a drug screen, physical, and background check.
Job Description
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors.
- Adhere to safety protocols outlined in the Tyler Union Safety Management Program.
- Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow ergonomic and safe lifting techniques.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Follow Supervisor/Team Lead instructions for setups and tooling.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections, start machines, and perform first part inspections.
- Learn and follow all the work instructions.
- Measure dimensions of finished workpieces using precision instruments.
- Operate machines efficiently and safely.
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools and fixtures under supervision.
- Make minor fixture adjustments under supervision.
- Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or change tooling/setup.
- Ensure proper lubrication and cooling of workpieces.
- Verify and record first part inspections.
- Insert control instructions into machine control units.
- Listen for issues during operations and make adjustments.
- Replace dull cutting tools.
- Maintain a neat and orderly workstation.

Education and/or Experience
- Preferred: Associates degree in a technical field or training in a vocational school.
- Required: High school diploma or GED.
- Consideration: One-years' experience within the division as a driller or pattern rigger.
- Computer Skills: Possess and use basic computer skills.
- Mastery: Ability to calibrate and read precision measuring devices. Working knowledge of mills and lathes tooling.
