Active Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with a strong acute care background to support the Respiratory Therapy Adult unit at a major hospital in Birmingham, AL. The role involves working night shifts on a 3x12 schedule, providing respiratory care primarily for neuro and cardiac patients in a large ICU setting.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy to adult patients, including ventilator management and oxygen therapy
• Utilize advanced respiratory equipment such as Servo I ventilators, V60, Vapotherm, and perform rapid ABG analysis
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Adhere to unit policies, including strict time and attendance standards
• Occasionally provide backup coverage for the Free Standing Emergency Room

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Current CRT or RRT licensure required
• Minimum 3 years of acute care respiratory therapy experience in a large hospital setting
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications mandatory
• Experience working night shifts and within teams that staff 4 or more therapists per shift is preferred
• Strong commitment to quality care and punctual attendance

Schedule/Hours:

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15) per week, totaling 36 guaranteed hours
• Typically every third weekend off, with potential for every other weekend occasionally
• No on-call requirements

Dress Code:

• Black scrubs required
• No artificial or long nails; standard nail polish only
• One ring per hand max; no bracelets except medical alert
