DirectPath Recruiting Services is partnering with a growing electronics manufacturing organization to hire an experienced SMT Applications Technician . This role supports high-reliability electronics production by programming, maintaining, and operating SMT equipment within a lab and manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with SMT programming, Juki equipment, feeder setup, reflow profiling, and quality-driven manufacturing , and is comfortable working independently in an AS9100-regulated environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Program, set up, operate, and maintain SMT pick-and-place and related automated assembly equipment .
• Convert customer CAD data into accurate, usable machine programs.
• Set up, load, break down, and verify component feeders per pick lists and customer BOMs.
• Verify components, part numbers, and polarity against customer-supplied BOMs and documentation .
• Perform reflow oven profiling , verify existing profiles, and ensure product quality through the reflow process.
• Operate SMT equipment to produce high-quality electronic assemblies in compliance with customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform unscheduled repairs as appropriate.
• Conduct preventive and scheduled maintenance on SMT production equipment.
• Maintain and complete all product and machine documentation required for each job.
• Follow all Quality Management System (QMS) , AS9100, and customer-specific requirements.
• Maintain required certifications and recertifications (J-STD-001 with Space Addendum).
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of electronic component identification and polarity .
• Experience programming and operating SMT manufacturing equipment .
• Familiarity with DOS and Windows-based equipment operating systems .
• Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, specifications, and requirements .
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to safely operate automated SMT equipment and maintain a clean, safe work environment .
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds .

Education & Certifications

• J-STD-001 Certification with Space Addendum (required)
• Training aligned with AS9100 Quality Program requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Training or experience with Juki SMT machines strongly preferred

Special Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating automated SMT assembly equipment
• Experience with Juki equipment a strong plus
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Ability to work a 4/10 schedule (Monday–Thursday)
