Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Manager in the Huntsville, AL area with 12+ years of experience in planning, designing, permitting and construction of water and wastewater-related projects (i.e. drinking water, wastewater, water resources, conveyance). The position will lead to an increasing level of client development and management commensurate with experience, supported by our regional offices and firm-wide technical resources.

- This position is local to Huntsville, Alabama with coordination across the Hazen Alabama and regional offices
Key Responsibilities:
- Project engineering and management of a wide range of projects to include planning, design, permitting, and construction of structures in water and wastewater (i.e. drinking water, wastewater, water resources, conveyance)
- Supervising junior staff
- Lead business development activities including preparation of proposals and presentations
- High level of client development and management · Preparation of assessment and design reports
- Performing design calculations
- Equipment sizing/selection
- Preparation of construction documents, and support needs for construction management/commissioning
- Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel
Required Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in the water/wastewater field
- Experience managing interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the client’s needs
- Experience in successfully delivering projects with collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience in planning, design, and construction for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Project management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Self-starter with attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in all MS Office based computer software
- Alabama PE license is required
- B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master’s) in Civil/Environmental Engineering
