Mechanical Designer
NIMBUS® Advanced Process Cooling is the cooling systems and solutions research, development, and manufacturing division of EMSCO, Inc., An Inductotherm Group Company with a history of providing service to the induction melting industry for over 40 years. NIMBUS Advanced Process Cooling manufactures hybrid adiabatic cooling systems, and Dry Cooling Systems in Anniston, Alabama.
Job Summary:
Designer will be responsible for creating drawings that exhibit the detail and method of assembly for a variety of machinery and electrical/mechanical devices. Must have experience in machine design drafting, sheet metal design, weldment, and assemblies. Must be proficient in a 3d design CAD package. Experience with SolidWorks is a plus. Experience with electrical control components, hydronic piping and circulation module design and drawings a plus.
Education:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years Formal Drafting Training or Equivalent.
Essential Job Functions:
· Proficient in the use of AutoCad and SolidWorks and knowledgeable in standard drafting practices.
· Understand and compute mechanical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components of machinery.
· Experience in machine design drafting, including weldment, assemblies, sheet metal, hydronic piping, and circulation module design.
· Able to read measuring devices (tape measures, rulers, calipers).
· Create and store drawings into automated manufacturing systems.
· Create and input bills of materials for project completion and inventory accounting.
· Prepare variations of designs and explain concepts to colleagues, customers, and manufacturers.
· Proficient in the use of computer business software including Word, Excel, etc.
· Required to travel approximately 25% of time to off-site locations to assist in equipment startup and other project related activities.
· Required to maintain company equipment and a clean, safe work area.
· Must be in regular attendance and able to work a reasonable amount of overtime.
· Must be able to handle miscellaneous duties as assigned.
· Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
· Must have good troubleshooting skills.
Non-essential JobFunctions:
· Experience with electrical control components and drawings a plus.
· Ability to speak foreign languages a plus.

· Must be able to read printed word, write, speak and understand English.
· Must be able to bend and reach.
· Must have valid driver’s license and able to drive an automobile.
· Must be able to travel on short notice by public transportation including (i.e.: aircrafts, trains, bus, cars) domestically and internationally.
· Must be able to sit at a work station for long periods of time and able to traverse the building.
