EMCO Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer I to support NASA’s enterprise communications modernization efforts. This role will focus on transitioning NASA’s current Cisco telephony environment (desk phones and Jabber clients) to Microsoft Teams Phone, ensuring full compliance with Enhanced 911 (E911) requirements. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of senior engineers and in coordination with Government stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain integrated network systems.

Responsibilities

Perform network engineering tasks related to the design, development, and implementation of integrated networks, including hardware, software, and support facilities.

Support the migration of NASA’s telephony infrastructure from Cisco to Microsoft Teams Phone.

Implement and validate E911 compliance measures, integrating with service providers and ensuring accurate location information for all users.

Conduct network engineering research, planning, and development in alignment with customer and engineering specifications.

Provide technical support for collaboration and communication platforms across NASA centers.

Coordinate the activities of assigned Network Technicians on project tasks.

Exercise independent judgment within defined project and technical guidelines.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience; OR

Associate’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.

US citizenship is required in order to obtain Public Trust Clearance

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of network design and engineering principles.

Familiarity with enterprise telephony systems, preferably Cisco Unified Communications and Microsoft Teams Phone.

Understanding of E911 compliance requirements and telephony integration with service providers.

Ability to work effectively with senior engineers, technicians, and Government customers.

Strong problem-solving skills and capacity for independent decision-making.

Preferred Skills:

Experience supporting NASA or federal government IT environments.

Knowledge of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.

Hands-on experience with VoIP technologies, SIP trunking, and call routing.
