An Idealease Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel and fleet vehicles, providing both on-site and shop-based services while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Service and Repairs:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and hydraulic systems for Idealease lease and rental trucks.
- Conduct system diagnostics using computerized equipment to identify and verify issues.
- Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined and adjusted as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and corrective repairs.
Mobile Service Operations:
- Respond to customer service calls for on-site diagnostics and repairs at various locations.
- Work independently while traveling to customer sites to provide timely and efficient service.
- Replace and repair brake systems, suspension components, and powertrains.
Customer Service and Communication:
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, providing clear updates on repair status.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with all services performed.
- Exhibit professionalism and courtesy to all clients, visitors, and colleagues.
Workplace Standards and Safety:
- Complete all work according to safety requirements and published procedures.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
- Adhere to manufacturer policies, labor operations, and repair documentation standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Hands-on experience with diesel engines and medium to heavy-duty trucks, typically 3+ years.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to use modern diagnostic software and tools.
- Attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and a safety-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
