Were based in Irondale, Alabama at our 5,000 sq ft facility with an indoor classroom, outdoor pavilion, and a teaching apiary. Were known for good service and nice people.The roleWere hiring an Education Coordinator to help execute and improve our education program, including:In-person classes and eventsSchool, homeschool, and library programs (pollinator-focused)Off-site programs and speaking eventsCreate and manage online classes and eventsDevelop curriculum and materialsThis is a team-first, pitch-in role. Some days youll be preparing class curriculum or coordinating a guest speaker. On other days, you may be setting up the space, greeting a school group, printing kids activity sheets, or helping with cleanup. We take ownership and care for what weve been entrusted with.Location: Irondale, AL (hybrid: some on-site, some remote)Schedule: Events run MondaySaturday, so some evenings and Saturdays are required.What youll do (core responsibilities)Coordinate the education calendar: scheduling, confirmations, checklists, and day-of executionCommunicate with attendees, partners, and instructors (email/phone/text) with good follow-throughSupport and sometimes teach basic classes (training provided; beekeeping knowledge helps)Recruit and coordinate guest instructors/speakers and handle logistics (AV, supplies, run-of-show, hospitality)Build and maintain relationships with schools, homeschool groups, and libraries to create programs that support pollinatorsCoordinate off-site programs as needed (planning, supplies, timing)Support online education: help keep course content organized and updated, assist students, coordinate recordings/logistics when neededWork with our marketing team to promote upcoming programs (photos, simple updates, schedules, timely info)Nice-to-have: Grant research and writing experienceWhat were looking forKind, humble, service-minded personality (this matters here)Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented you dont drop ballsComfortable leading a group and also doing behind-the-scenes logisticsStrong communication skills and a professional tone with customers and partnersComfortable with computers and web-based tools (email, docs, scheduling, basic course platforms)Willingness to learn and teach basic beekeeping/pollinator education contentPhysical/practical requirementsComfortable standing/walking during events and moving supplies (tables, chairs, materials)Comfortable working outdoors at the pavilion/teaching apiary when neededHow to applyFully complete the application through our job board - [email protected] with:Your resume attachedA short note explaining why you want to work at Foxhound and why youd be a good fitSubject line requirement (for the email):Include:the name of the first beekeeper who climbed Mount Everest, andThe title of this positionIf you skip this step, we wont review your application.Website:
