About the Role:

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician with strong experience in mobile equipment and preventive maintenance. This role is primarily responsible for maintaining and repairing forklifts, skid steers, trailers, and related equipment, while taking full ownership of daily and weekly preventive maintenance programs to ensure safe, reliable operations across the facility.

  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs in accordance with company policies and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) requirements
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair fixed and rolling stock equipment including balers, conveyor systems, gearboxes, electrical motors, shafts, rollers, bearings, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Read and interpret basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics and manuals
  • Assist in identifying equipment issues and support root cause analysis efforts
  • Provide guidance and support to Maintenance Technician A team members as needed
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards
  • Support facility improvement projects and assist with equipment installations
  • Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as required for operations and repairs

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
  • 4+ years of experience maintaining industrial or mobile equipment (forklifts, skid steers, trailers, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics, diesel/gas engines, and mechanical systems
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and equipment inspections
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role with or without reasonable accommodation

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.

The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Work is performed primarily in an industrial plant environment with exposure to noise, odors, dust, and varying temperatures
  • Regular presence on the plant floor, including walking, standing, climbing stairs, and navigating operating equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • May require extended or flexible hours to support operational needs
