Payroll Clerk

Description We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Clerk to join our team in Montgomery, Alabama. This is a contract position with potential to turn into a permanent position and offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment. The Payroll Clerk role involves ensuring accurate and timely review and processing of payroll for a large workforce, with a focus on efficiency and attention to detail. Responsibilities: - Process direct deposit entries and verify accuracy of payroll data. - Review and edit employee timesheets for compliance with company policies. - Manage payroll for approximately 900 hourly employees across two facilities. - Collaborate with team members to ensure timely weekly payroll processing, especially during peak times on Mondays and Tuesdays. - Maintain accurate records of payroll activities and resolve discrepancies as needed. - Utilize payroll software and tools to streamline payroll operations. - Provide support for union and manufacturing payroll processes when applicable. - Adhere to confidentiality and compliance standards in handling payroll information. - Communicate effectively with employees and management to address payroll-related inquiries. Requirements - Proficiency in using payroll systems and tools. - Experience working in ADP software is highly preferred - Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis. - Experience managing payroll for 100+ employees is preferred. - Familiarity with union and manufacturing payroll processes is a plus. - Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under deadlines. - Effective communication skills for handling employee inquiries. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Previous experience in payroll processing or a related field is required.
