This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will be on-site.\n\nPosition Overview:\n\nThe selected Sr. Principal Project Engineer (level 4) responsibilities include the Control Account Management of the In-Flight Interceptor Communication Systems (IFICS) Data Terminal (IDT) product within the Missile Defense Agency\u2019s (MDA) Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program. You will be responsible for performing proposal development and writing, schedule development, time-phase budget planning, earned value management system (EVMS) reporting, and managing a major subcontractor to best meet dynamic customer needs for new and existing features of the IDT system, collaborating with team members, and working in a cross functional team.\n\nEssential Functions: \n\n * Develop Proposals and Program Management Estimates and resolve proposal preparation problems and assess the progress against established plans and parameters\n\n * Plans and coordinates the labor, schedules, and resources required for new or existing programs\n\n * Develops and adheres to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost \u0026 schedule control methodologies and tools to include supplier integration\n\n * Coordinate with internal and external customers and integrated product teams.\n\n * Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.\n\n * Monitors program progress and identifies risks and issues.\n\n * Day-to-day collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely awareness of project updates.\n\n * Determines, monitors, and reviews costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements.\n\n * Compliance with organizational processes and procedures\n\n * Evaluation of financial variances and changes to baseline plans\n\n * Supports and participates in negotiations with customer\n\n * Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.\n\n * Develops forecast\n\n * Supports Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR) and DCMA Joint Surveillance Reviews (JSR)\n\n * Developing executive level presentations\n\n * Risk and Opportunity Development and Management\n\n * Supports consistent CAM approach across all cost accounts on the program to include supporting submission of high quality monthly financial CDRLs and supporting audits\n\n\n\n\nThe selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD\n\n * A current, active DoD Secret clearance is required\n\n * Ability to interpret and comply with Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements and proven experience in cost estimation and scheduling\n\n * Experience supporting DoD proposal activities that include BOE development, Integrated Master Schedule input, and writing contributions on multiple proposal activities.\n\n * Proven experience with presentation/briefing development\n\n * Demonstrated skills in the organization and execution of tasks and projects\n\n * Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills\n\n * Experience with communicating with stakeholders through organized processes to ensure that program information is defined, collected, shard, understood, stored and retrieved in a manner that effectively meets program stakeholder needs.\n\n * Experience identifying and addressing program impacts through systematic, proactive approach to issue and problem resolution that identifies, communicates, monitors and promptly resolves conflicts across all levels of the program.\n\n * Experience monitoring/controlling program plans, cost and schedule baselines that meet both program contractual requirements and stakeholder expectations.\n\n * Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs\n\n\n\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience in systems engineering, requirements, verification development and product development processes and application to complex weapon or space systems.\n\n * Security+ certification\n\n * GMD/MDA Experience\n\n * Missile Defense Experience\n\n * Proven experience managing a major subcontractor\n\n * Exposure to Earned Value Management and Agile\n\n * Demonstrate a track record as an effective collaborator, communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.\n\n * Demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.\n\n * Show experience developing capabilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching.\n\n * Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\n * Demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities.\n\n * Demonstrate an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the organization as required to accomplish the team goals.\n\n * Assist Leadership with proposals and other contract modifications.\n\n * Exposure to all parts of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle\n\n\n\n\nWhat We Can Offer You:\n\nNorthrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment that fosters your growth, supporting both employees and the company\u0027s success. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
