Class 8 Truck Service Technician
Where: Huntsville, Alabama | Work Location: In person
Is this you?- Do you thrive in a fast-paced, safety-focused shop keeping heavy-duty trucks road-ready?
- Are you confident diagnosing diesel powertrains, electrical faults, air brakes, and hydraulic systems with schematics and test equipment?
- Can you switch from preventive maintenance to complex fabrication and welding without missing a beat?
- Full-spectrum inspections and repairs on semi trucks: engines, transmissions, brakes (including air systems), suspensions, hydraulics, electrical, and HVAC.
- Routine services—oil changes, tire mounting/rotation, alignments, and fluid replacement—to extend fleet longevity.
- Troubleshooting with wiring diagrams, technical manuals, laptops, and meters to resolve tricky mechanical and electrical issues.
- Component repair and fabrication using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering, and precise assembly techniques.
- Strict adherence to shop safety protocols and applicable maintenance regulations for heavy equipment.
- Proven experience on semi trucks or heavy-duty equipment in a dealership or industrial setting.
- Solid command of diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, HVAC systems, and shocks & struts.
- Diagnostic proficiency with schematics and electronic testing tools.
- Comfortable with welding/fabrication, hand and power tools, soldering, and assembly processes.
- Background in tire service, wheel alignment procedures, brake repair, and routine maintenance.
Pay: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
