About Our Family
We are a busy, warm, and high-functioning household with four kids ranging from elementary school through college age. Our home is full of life, laughter, animals, and a whole lot of love — but it takes real effort to keep it all running smoothly, and we are ready for the right person to step in and help us do that well.
Our household has two working parents: one who works from home on a night schedule and another who runs a flexible but full work-from-home business during the day. Because our schedules overlap and offset each other, the house is always in use, and the rhythm of the home rarely slows down. We have three kids in school across different campuses, which means afternoon pickups are a significant daily commitment. During the summer months, the house is even more lively with kids around throughout the day.
We are not a chaotic family — quite the opposite. We have solid systems already in place, and we take pride in a home that feels tidy and intentional. What we need is someone who can help us maintain and build on what we have. The areas where we most feel the weight are laundry (daily, and it is never-ending with school uniforms and sports gear), meal prep and grocery management, keeping the household stocked and running without things falling through the cracks, and school pickups. When everything is clicking, the house feels calm and welcoming — and that is the goal.
We are a family that appreciates directness, humor, and someone who takes quiet pride in a job done well. We give feedback openly and respectfully, and we expect the same in return. We genuinely want this to be a great fit for both sides, and we are ready to invest in the right person.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who walks into a room and immediately sees what needs to be done — and then just does it. We are looking for a person who is warm, grounded, and genuinely service-minded. Someone who does not need a task list to tell them the laundry needs switching or the fruit bowl is empty. Someone who will notice that the kids' bathroom ran out of shampoo and quietly handle it before anyone has to ask.
You are proactive by nature. You plan ahead. You make confident decisions within your scope without needing permission for every small thing, and you communicate openly when something comes up. You take pride in the details, whether that is a freshly made bed, a fully stocked pantry, or a kitchen left spotless after dinner. You are resilient and steady — you can hear "actually, we do it a different way" and take that as helpful information rather than criticism.
You are comfortable and at ease around kids of different ages and temperaments. You know how to read the room and meet each child where they are. When the school-age kids want to join in on cooking, you welcome it. You are not a pushover, but you are also not rigid — you bring flexibility and good humor to an environment that has a lot of moving parts.
Above all, you are the kind of person who takes true ownership of a household. You show up with energy, you follow through, and you leave the family's home better than you found it every single day. If someone once described their House Manager as "the extra set of hands I didn't know I needed," you understand exactly what that means — and you are proud of it.
