Snelling is currently recruiting an experienced and mission-driven Program Coordinator to join a nonprofit organization in Huntsville, AL.
Primary Responsibilities for Program Coordinator:
- Supervise, train, and support a team of Case Managers delivering direct services to veteran families
- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to SSVF grant guidelines and Housing First principles
- Review and approve documentation including case notes, certifications, and closure goals for accuracy and compliance
- Conduct regular one-on-one supervision meetings to provide feedback, address challenges, and review client progress
- Coordinate with community agencies, VA partners, HUD-VASH teams, shelters, and referral sources
- Review and approve Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) requests and ensure proper documentation is submitted
- Participate in community homeless coalitions and build strong partnerships across assigned counties
- Handle client transfers, manage escalated issues, and support client crisis resolution as needed
- Maintain a small caseload of HUD-VASH clients when appropriate
- Ensure program meets quality assurance benchmarks and monthly performance goals
Required Qualifications for Program Coordinator:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field (Master’s degree and licensure preferred)
- 2–3 years of supervisory and program management experience, ideally in a social services setting
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic case management systems
- Military experience or familiarity with the Veterans Administration is a plus
- Must have valid Alabama driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and TB test
