Job Summary

The RN provides professional, direct nursing care for clinic patients following established nursing standards and practices.

Essential Functions

• To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Interacts professionally with patients/families; treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
• Effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers, demonstrating customer service excellence through application of positive language principles, appropriate response and use of constructive problem-solving techniques which foster positive outcomes.
• Perform an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to the care requested in accordance with protocol and procedures. This includes neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Provides specific assessments, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to care.
• Interpret data regarding the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.

• Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
• Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting resident or employee safety or security. Additional languages preferred.

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Must have a current Registered Nurse license or a current Compact State Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
