ALA - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Alabama) A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The CMM Programmer provides quality support to engineering and production through advanced Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming and inspection. Works effectively with engineers, inspectors, supervisors and production personnel to resolve quality issues, achieve team objectives and promote quality principles.
- Writes and maintains CMM programs based on customer and company specifications.
- Troubleshoots and contacts outside technical support services for CMM software as needed.
- Assists engineers with qualification and validation of new or changed tooling or parts.
- Prepares detailed inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications.
- Writes, updates and improves quality procedures as required.
- Performs testing and inspection at various stages of production, visual and dimensional inspection
- Ensures customer specifications and quality standards are met
- Tests and inspects at various product stages during production for defects, such as scratches, burrs, surface finish, and dimensional variances. Notifies Leads and other parties of production issues and assists with identifying and correcting problems in a timely manner
- Trains personnel and instructs and provides direction to other employees on most efficient use of equipment
- Quarantines non-conforming parts
- Completes necessary paperwork to fulfill customer requirements and quality requirements, e.g. recording test data, recording quantities inspected
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates (Preferred)
- High School Or Equivalent (Required)
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ Years of experience in quality inspection (Required)
- 3+ Years of Experience Operating/Programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and Other Inspection Methodologies (Preferred)
