Automotive International Client, located in Vance Ala has a requirement for Senior Financial and Tax Accounting Specialist

We need US Citizens or Green Card holder candidates only, A minimum of 5+ years' of proven relevant professional experience.

The Pay Rate for this position is: $40 - 48/ Per Hour (Depending on Exp) Plus Overtime

The Senior Financial and Tax Accountant is responsible for the collection and analysis of financial information and performing accounting/tax research . The Senior Financial and Tax Accountant will assist management by providing financial reporting, guidance, and knowledge . A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and demonstrated knowledge of technical and operational accounting functions are a must.

Duties and responsibilities

Ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization. Align and collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury to ensure that transactions are accounted for properly. Analysis of complex processes and systems data. Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures. Complete monthly closings according to month-end calendar and prepare monthly financial reports including submission of statements to parent company. Demonstrated history of solving multiple complex operational and accounting challenges. Execute judgment to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month. Prepare analysis of accounts as requested including monthly, quarterly, and annual comparisons. Responsible for completing ICS (Risk Control Tracking System) self-assessment, roll-forward, and period-end controls for respective areas. Responsible for preparing a set of financials for company's bi-annual multi year planning. Responsible to prepare reconciliations including follow-up of open items and clearing of open line items. Work with Information Technology department and other users to maximize the functionality of the general ledger module and to understand the impacts of changes that would affect the general ledger and financial reporting. Work with other departmental groups to ensure the proper coding of invoices from an IFRS perspective. Assist in the maintaining of tax accounting records which differ from financial accounting records including supporting business partners responsible for Federal and State income tax return. Oversee the preparation and timely filing of tax returns along with timely payment of any liability. Responsible for assisting and reviewing tax returns for State and local sales/use tax returns. Ensure compliance with tax laws and avoidance of any penalties. Review preparation of tax provision calculations. Perform other duties as required.

Professional Experience

A minimum of five (5) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s):

general ledger accounting, financial accounting, financial reporting, or tax accounting

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) Ability to question the reasonableness of journal entries, account balances, and the potential impact associated with various accounting activities on the company's financial statements Ability to comprehend and comply with division policies, procedures, and operations in conducting day-to-day responsibilities

Preferred skills (These skills are not essential but useful)

CPA preferred,

SAP, PowerBI, Quickbooks
