About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent experience in specialty License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: AHA BLS or Red Cross Must-Have: - Associate degree in nursing - 2 years of experience preferred; however, will consider 18 months of experience with a focus on recent clinical experience in specialty Description: This is a travel nursing position in a medical telemetry unit. The unit specializes in the care of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Nurses have a patient ratio of 1:6. Care is provided to patients primarily requiring treatment for pneumonia, shortness of breath, COPD, and other lung diseases. The unit may also care for medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke and surgical patients. Patients benefit from daily rounds with the entire interdisciplinary team. The unit includes a respiratory step-down area with a nursing ratio of 1:4. Flexibility to float to other units may be required. Nurses are expected to work every other weekend and on holidays as needed.
