Quality Control Technician

Resume required for Consideration of Employment for this Position.

Gathers and test products for quality control purposes. Requires constant interaction with work group and other departments at the primary work location. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality and/or quality.

Qualifications

Mobility - Physically capable to gather samples from all production areas of plant.

Sensory - Ability to distinguish color coded equipment, containers, label, signs, etc. Ability to view product for proper size and color.

Communication - Ability to generate written communication and Operate required office equipment. Speech and hearing abilities that allow the individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English (in person and via telephone) and/or another language, if required.

Attendance - Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis, working scheduled hours and overtime as needed.

Desired Experience - One (1) year previous experience in similar Quality Assurance lab.

Other - Ability to use metric system and ability to learn and perform microbiological tests. (i.e. filth test and peroxides test). Maintain required laboratory health standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Quality Manager, performs evaluations of ingredients and products in various stages of production. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Obtains samples of ingredients/product at regular intervals.
• Evaluates the samples: weight, color, bake, etc.
• Perform microbiological tests.
• Routinely makes recommendations for processing.
• Originate and maintain accurate records.
• Checks Metal Detectors.
• Performs mathematical calculations on weight and logs information of proper paperwork.
• Maintain flour-tailing reports.
• Trains new QC Technicians as necessary.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area(s).
• Practices and complies with all company policies and procedures including safety and work rules, etc.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervision.
• Ensures that all internal and external food safety and quality policies and procedures are followed
• Practices and complies with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.).
• Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
