Network Event Manager
We are seeking a skilled Network Event Manager to join our team at DISA in Montgomery, AL. The Network Event Manager will be responsible for monitoring and managing network events and incidents, ensuring timely resolution, and minimizing impact on network performance and availability. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the operational integrity and security of our network infrastructure.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Monitor network events and incidents using network management tools and systems.
- Investigate and analyze network events, identifying their root causes and potential impacts.
- Coordinate with network teams and stakeholders to promptly address and resolve network incidents.
- Implement incident response procedures and best practices to ensure efficient and effective incident resolution.
- Manage and track network events and incidents, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement preventive measures to mitigate future network incidents.
- Conduct regular network health checks and assessments to proactively identify potential issues or vulnerabilities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in network event management.
- Participate in incident management exercises and drills to test and improve network incident response capabilities.
- Provide timely communication and updates to management and stakeholders regarding network events and incident resolution progress.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of network event management processes and procedures.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience.
- Proven experience in network event management or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, infrastructure, and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with incident response frameworks and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Certifications
- CompTIA Security+ CE
Security Clearance
- DoD Secret is required
