GIS Technician - All Levels (Birmingham)

Genesis Technical is seeking all levels of local GIS Technicians for long-term work in Birmingham, AL.Hybrid / REMOTE Considered after training!
- Must live within a commutable distance from Birmingham, AL.
- 2 -12 years of experience in a related field.
- GIS Certificate or Geographical Information Systems degree or at least 2 years of full time GIS work required.
- Pay DOE
- Long-term contract
- Input, processing, and maintenance of Alabama Power Distribution Lines and Equipment assets in an ESRI GIS database.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree (Geography, GIS, or similar field), or GIS Certificate, or at least 2 years of full time GIS work experience is required
- Power Distribution knowledge is a plus
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software required
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro software is a plus
- Competency with standard computer software, to include Microsoft Office suite is required
- Capable of working in a team environment is required
- Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) is a plus
- Flexible to work 40 hours per week, M-F, in an office environment in Birmingham, Alabama.
- Shifts may be 8 or 10 hours per day, starting as early as 7am and ending as late as 5pm.
- Flexible to work remotely (from home) as well after training.
- Remote work requires stable broadband Internet connection of 20mb/s or capable of supporting remote desktop connections over VPN and is responsibility of worker.
