Industrial Maintenance Technician
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on industrial equipment.
- Perform basic PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Install, inspect, and maintain equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and packaging machinery.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges) to ensure tight tolerances.
- Operate machine shop tools (lathe, drill press, shaper) to fabricate or repair parts.
- Perform rigging operations and calculate working loads for ropes, chains, and cables.
- Wire and troubleshoot 3-phase motors and work safely with up to 480 volts.
- Conduct field measurements, prepare sketches, parts lists, and purchase requisitions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections.
- Analyze wear and timing issues, reassemble and calibrate machines for optimal performance.
- Recognize mechanical defects through touch, sight, and sound.
- Perform refrigeration system maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist in training junior technicians.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; technical certification preferred.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with PLC systems and basic programming.
- Ability to read meters and electrical schematics.
- Experience with gearboxes, pumps, and high-voltage systems.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
