Accounting Assistant

- Process bi-weekly payroll which includes gathering and verifying time sheets and ensuring proper payroll withholdings for insurance, garnishments and other various deductions.
- Maintain sick/vacation accrual ledgers on all employees.
- Verify and process all accounts payable to vendors for services rendered.
- Reconcile monthly VISA statements for 70+ accounts.
- Process reimbursements for travel expense reports for employees.
- Distribute and reconcile petty cash fund.
- Process and pay sales and use tax to include multiple states, counties and cities.
- Gather accounts receivables and execute remote deposit.
- Maintain records for licensing and registration renewals of firm and professional personnel.
- Assists with special projects, as needed.
- High School degree.
- 5 years’ bookkeeping experience including processing payroll, payroll taxes and accounts payable.
- Proficiency with accounting software.
- Outstanding judgement, sensitivity and high discretion.
- Able to pass background check
- Experience utilizing Ajera accounting software.
- Experience with Paycor.
- This position is a part-time position assigned to our Montgomery, Alabama location. Minimum 25 hours per week, with the ability to work up to 40 hours per week, if needed. Position may require occasional travel to our Auburn, AL office.
