MATERIAL HANDLER

Automation Personnel Services is looking for a experienced, reliable Material Handler for a well-established lumber yard based in Robertsdale, AL. Under direct supervision you will handle and maintain the flow of materials and products on the premises according to established guidelines and safety protocols. Work will be performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.

Pay Rate
$16.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday

7:00AM – 4:00PM

Material Handler Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide general labor services as needed in the lumber yard including climbing, lifting, pushing or kneeling

• Ability to carry, stack, and lift pieces of lumber and materials

• Perform necessary tasks to ensure good housekeeping for a safe and efficient operation

• Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, some of which may require specialized training

• Respond attentively to training from foreman or senior handlers to increase knowledge of work processes, be a team player

• Attend periodic safety meetings as required

Material Handler Qualifications and Requirements
• Must be able to operate a forklift

• Background Check and Drug Screen

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 75lbs (assessment performed)

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time

• Must be able to withstand extreme temperatures, as you will be working outdoors
