Occupational Therapist (School Based)

Location: Pell City

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. This school-based position is critical in supporting the development and educational success of students. The successful candidate will assess and provide therapeutic interventions to students with diverse needs, helping them achieve their highest potential in the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of students' abilities and challenges related to their educational performance.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and goals tailored to each student's needs.
• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support and integrate therapeutic interventions into the classroom setting.
• Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational strategies and goals.
• Provide training and support to school staff and parents on therapeutic techniques and modifications to enhance student learning.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist or eligibility for licensure.
• Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficient in documenting and maintaining accurate student records.
