Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team and work independently on electrical engineering projects
- Work onsite at designated locations and remotely as needed
- Travel for meetings and field inspections to various sites
- Assist in designing and overseeing electrical power systems, including scope documents, schedules, budgets, single line diagrams, and wiring layouts
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical guidance to other engineers, designers, and drafters
- Support checkout and startup procedures of electrical systems
- Support DC system wiring, physical design, equipment specifications, inspections, and acceptance testing
- Experience with detailed design of battery systems, chargers, inverters, UPS, and DC fuse panels
- Seven or more years of experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and CAD Overlay
- Ability to prepare single line, elementary, and wiring diagrams with minimal oversight
- Willingness and ability to travel within company footprints to plants
- 3-6 years of related experience in electrical engineering
- Accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BS)
- Good knowledge of engineering design principles, preferably for power plant electrical systems
- Experience providing technical direction for design details, drawings, and calculations
- Experience scheduling and coordinating projects to meet cost and schedule goals
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and CAD Overlay is a plus
- High initiative with effective planning, organization, and execution skills
- Ability to handle large project designs at fossil-fired generating plants with limited supervision
- Strong relationship-building skills with plant staff, engineering teams, and vendors
