Water Treatment Operator (Grade IV Licensed)

We are seeking a dedicated, safety-focused Water Treatment Operator to support daily operations at a drinking water treatment facility, ensuring continuous production of clean, safe, and compliant water.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor treatment systems (coagulation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection).

• Adjust process parameters using control systems and in-plant instruments.

• Perform routine lab sampling and analysis (turbidity, pH, disinfectant residuals).

• Record operational data and complete shift logs and compliance reports.

• Maintain and optimize chemical feed systems, filters, and analytical instruments.

• Respond to alarms and process upsets; assist with troubleshooting and maintenance.

• Follow safety procedures including confined space, lockout/tagout, and chemical handling.

• Support system flushing, water quality monitoring, and coordination with field teams.

• Maintain plant cleanliness and assist with chemical deliveries.

• Mentor junior operators and participate in rotating, weekend, and on-call shifts.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (technical training or associate degree preferred).

• Valid state-issued Grade IV Water Treatment Operator license.

• 13 years of experience in drinking water treatment or related operations.

• Strong understanding of process control, lab techniques, and water quality standards.

• Proficiency with SCADA/HMI systems and Microsoft Office.

• Valid drivers license with satisfactory record and ability to meet screening standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with regulatory reporting and filtration/disinfection optimization.

• Familiarity with lead, copper, and disinfection byproduct sampling programs.

• Knowledge of backflow prevention, cross-connection control, and distribution maintenance.

• Experience with seasonal process adjustments and chemical feed optimization.
