Job Summary
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing technical duties within an electronic, mechanical, or systems manufacturing environment. This position supports production and functional work-group projects by performing testing, measurements, equipment operation, process controls, troubleshooting, repairs, and other technical activities.
Job Description
- Perform technical duties in support of electronic, mechanical, or systems manufacturing projects.
- Perform testing, measurements, operations, and process controls for manufacturing activities.
- Apply established test techniques and procedures to support key cell and production projects.
- Follow job packets, routings, work orders, wire lists, quality travelers, bills of material, and other technical documentation.
- Maintain production tools, test equipment, and manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot product, process, and program defects to identify root causes and perform appropriate repairs.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Identify electronic and mechanical components and assemblies.
- Perform wire preparation, stripping, crimping, harness repair, and termination.
- Use appropriate manual hand tools and manufacturing equipment.
- Support electronics, hydraulics, and mechanical assembly activities.
- Operate and, as applicable, perform basic programming of automated machinery.
- Use electronic test equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, frequency generators, and variable resistive loads.
- Work with power supplies involving low/high voltage applications up to 1,000V while following applicable safety procedures.
- Perform basic software scripts and understand their application in manufacturing/test environments.
- Enter, review, and maintain information using SAP and standard computer applications.
- Apply the guiding principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and quality-focused work environment.
- Follow all written technical, quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures.
Skills Required
- Basic understanding of electronics theory.
- Ability to follow written technical procedures accurately.
- Ability to read and interpret basic schematics and technical drawings.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify electronic components and perform basic electronic/mechanical assembly tasks.
- Experience using electronic test equipment such as: Digital multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Frequency generators, Low/high-voltage power supplies up to 1,000V, Variable resistive loads
- Fluent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with SAP.
- Working knowledge of Windows 11 and Windows 10; familiarity with legacy Windows environments such as Windows XP and Windows 2000 is desirable.
- Basic ability to run and understand software scripts.
- English language proficiency.
Preferred Skills
- Manufacturing or electronics technician experience.
- Experience with PWA/PCB testing.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic products or manufacturing processes.
- Experience reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience with wire harness assembly, repair, and termination.
- Familiarity with automated machinery and basic machine programming.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical assemblies.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Associate degree in Electronics
- OR approximately 2 years of relevant technical/manufacturing experience.
Additional requirements
- Sh ift: M-F, 06:00 - 02:00 p.m. initially with potential change to M-F 2nd Shift (02:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.)
Pay rate
- $23 per hour (Compensation will be offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
